SolarWise (https://solarwise.ie) is a free quote comparison service operated from Ireland. We help homeowners and businesses find local solar panel installers.

What Data Do We Collect?

We collect the following personal data:

  • Name — your first and last name
  • Phone number — your mobile number
  • Project details — timeline, and any optional details you provide about your project
  • Technical data — your IP address and browser user agent string

How Do We Collect Your Data?

You directly provide all of the data we collect. We collect and process data when you:

  • Complete and submit our online quote request form
  • Optionally provide additional project details after your initial submission

Your IP address and browser information are collected automatically when you submit the form.

How Will We Use Your Data?

SolarWise collects your data to:

  • Connect you with a local solar panel installer who will contact you about your enquiry
  • Assess your enquiry to improve the quality of installer matching
  • Prevent fraudulent or spam submissions
  • Record your consent as required by law

When you submit a quote request, SolarWise shares your name and phone number with a local solar panel installer so they can contact you about your enquiry. Your details are shared with one installer only.

What Is Our Legal Basis for Processing Your Data?

We process your personal data based on your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You give consent by ticking the consent checkbox and submitting the quote request form.

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at privacy@mylead.ie. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

Providing your data is not a statutory or contractual requirement. You are not obliged to provide it. If you choose not to, we will not be able to connect you with an installer.

Automated Decision-Making

When you submit a quote request, we use an automated scoring process to assess the nature of your enquiry based on the information you provide (such as timeline and project details). This score is used to improve installer matching and is not used to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.

How Do We Store Your Data?

SolarWise stores your data on secure servers located in the EU. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Some of our service providers operate outside the EEA. Where this occurs, appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

We retain your data as follows:

  • Unmatched enquiries — personal data (name, phone number) is deleted after 90 days. Anonymised records are retained for analytics.
  • Matched enquiries — retained for up to 6 years after matching, in line with Irish statutory limitation periods.
  • Consent records — retained as an audit trail to demonstrate lawful processing.

Cookies

SolarWise does not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or tracking pixels.

Our quote request form uses a bot protection tool that sets strictly necessary cookies for security purposes. These cookies do not track you across websites and do not require a cookie consent banner under the ePrivacy Directive.
